Position Summary

The Accounts Receivable Associate is responsible for assisting the Finance Department with receivables and collections.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Posts customer payments by recording ACH, checks, and credit card transactions.
• Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions form lock box and local deposits.
• Updates receivables by totaling unpaid invoices.
• Maintains records by invoices, debits, and credits.
• Resolves valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries.
• Resolves invalid or unauthorized deductions by following pending deductions procedures.
• Resolves collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line; coordinating contact with collections department.
• Summarizes receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; coordinating monthly transfer to accounts receivable account; verifying totals; preparing report.
• Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
• Accomplishes accounting and month end tasks as needed.
• Make calls to customers to collect overdue payments.

Position Requirements

• Must be organized.
• Have excellent data entry skills.
• Accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Attention to detail and very thorough.
• Willing to do research and record results in an easy-to-read manner.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Team player and detailed oriented with the ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Conduct duties and responsibilities in a moral, honest and ethical manner.
• Excellent math skills.
