Job Description: Serve as a Boat Captain in support of U.S. Navy Small Boat and Watercraft Waterfront Operations Testing, responsible for operating various military boats and craft, undergoing a variety of tests and performance assessments.
Job Requirements/Skill Sets: Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience with U.S. Navy or U.S. Coast Guard working with military small boats and watercraft and possess expertise in military small craft operations and procedures, including high-speed rough water operations. Individuals must be experienced with supporting military, commercial, or emergency diving operations or in operating boats during emergency salvage and rescue operations. Candidates shall have a complete understanding of the related emergency procedures. Candidates must be proficient at planning and conducting maritime operations.
Required certifications include : United States Merchant Mariner Credential with endorsement for Master of twenty-five (25) tons or greater and should be qualified as a U.S. Navy Special Warfare Combatant-Craft Crewmen (SWCC) Boat Captain or a U.S. Coast Guard Heavy Weather Coxswain or Surfman. A “Class A” Commercial Driver’s License is desirable.
Education requirements: High School Diploma or GED
Security Clearance/Naval Facility Access: U.S. citizenship is required. Must be able to meet and maintain eligibility for a U.S. Secret Clearance and/or be able to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
