We are currently hiring an experienced Dental Practice Manager in Milwaukee, WI. This is a full-time position that does not require working late nights, weekends, or holidays.

Why Progressive Community Health Centers?

Founded in 1999, Progressive Community Health Centers is an independent non-profit organization that operates four clinic locations in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. More than 100 employees support our agency's mission to improve the health and quality of life of the community by providing culturally competent services that address identified needs. We provide high quality, comprehensive care to roughly 16,000 patients annually, a majority of who are low-income. No one is ever turned away from our clinics based on insurance status or ability to pay. We value a patient-centered philosophy and provide range of services that include family medicine, internal medicine, women's health, urgent care, dental, radiology and integrated behavioral health. We also offer supportive services such as case management, health education and benefits enrollment.

Summary

The Dental Practice Manager oversees the daily operations of the dental clinic, ensuring efficient workflows, compliance with federal and state regulations, and a positive patient experience. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to support providers, dental assistants, hygienists, and administrative staff in delivering high-quality oral health care.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage daily operations of the dental clinic, including scheduling, staffing, and patient flow.
  2. Ensure compliance with FQHC, HRSA, OSHA, and state dental regulations.
  3. Collaborate with dentists, hygienists, and support staff to promote excellence in patient care.
  4. Lead, supervise, and coach dental support staff to maintain a high-performing team culture.
  5. Monitor and report on performance metrics, including access, productivity, patient satisfaction, and quality outcomes.
  6. Manage budgets, purchasing, and inventory of dental supplies and equipment.
  7. Partner with leadership to implement quality improvement and process optimization initiatives.
  8. Serve as the primary liaison between the dental department, administration, and external partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of management or supervisory experience in a dental or healthcare setting (FQHC/community health experience strongly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of dental practice operations, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic dental records (EDR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

It is mandatory that all employees, employed providers and volunteers are vaccinated. All hired candidates must submit proof of vaccination prior to their orientation. This is a mandatory requirement for Progressive Community Health Centers. The purpose is to minimize exposure to and transmission of the influenza virus in the workplace by providing occupational protection to employees and thereby preventing exposure to members of the community, which we serve.
