No Problem! Iowa 80 Truckstop will teach you the skills needed to become an ASE Master Certified Truck Technician. Our Apprentices START at $18 per hour. Apprentices can double that wage in less than 2 years by being reliable, showing initiative, and retaining what is shown and taught to you. Our top performing technicians average over $50 per hour and you can too!

Your Apprenticeship at Iowa 80 Truckstop includes learning alignments, preventative maintenance, DOT inspection, tire service, computer diagnostics, road service, and diagnosis and repair of the following:

• Electrical system
• Charging system
• Starting system
• Air system
• Air brake system
• HVAC system
• Exhaust system including Aftertreatment
• Engine cooling system
• Fuel system
• Drive line components
• Wheel end components
• Steering components
• Suspension components
• Fuel system

Responsibilities

• Must provide excellent service to our customers
• Service all makes of class 8 semi trucks and trailers
• Complete thorough vehicle inspections and document any needed repairs
• Complete repairs properly and timely
• Inspect quality of work performed to ensure customer satisfaction
• Communicate with Service Writers/Parts Counter Advisors in a friendly and professional manner
• Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, work safely, and as part of a team

• Be mechanically inclined
• Have a great work ethic
• Desire to learn and grow professionally
• Work well with a team to provide excellent customer service and promote a positive work environment
• Possess or be willing to obtain tools to properly perform repairs within our scope of service
• Have reliable transportation to work
• Have acceptable background check report
• Successfully pass pre-employment physical
