  • Contract Duration: 4 months
  • Worksite Location: Lake Elmo, MN | Hybrid
  • Compensation: $28-30/hour

What you’ll do as the Fraud Investigator:

  • Detect, prevent, and mitigate suspicious and fraudulent activities across customer accounts and payment channels
  • Review and triage fraud alerts, including check fraud, deposit fraud, online account takeover, Zelle activity, and bill payment anomalies
  • Investigate suspicious activity, analyze patterns, and determine appropriate actions to mitigate risk
  • Ensure all processes align with regulatory and compliance standards, including Reg CC, Reg E, UCC 3 & 4, NACHA, BSA/AML, and FinCEN
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to communicate complex issues clearly and effectively
  • Deliver exceptional service and support in resolving fraud-related inquiries
  • Escalate or independently resolve fraud cases using sound judgment and adherence to policy
  • Maintain accurate documentation and prepare electronic and physical evidence following judicial standards
  • Prioritize workload, follow procedural guidelines, and execute timely case resolutions
  • Participate in cross-functional efforts to enhance fraud prevention and response protocols

What you’ll bring to the Fraud Investigator role:

  • High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 3 years of relevant fraud investigation experience
  • Strong working knowledge of fraud regulations and industry rules (Reg CC, Reg E, UCC 3 & 4, NACHA, BSA/AML, FinCEN)
  • Effective investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills with sound judgment
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to write clear and factual SARs (Suspicious Activity Reports).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer-focused mindset with a professional approach to internal and external communication
  • Experience collaborating across departments and presenting findings or recommendations to various audiences
