Geospatial Web Developer Location Washington, DC :
GEOSPATIAL WEB DEVELOPER Work Location: mostly remote but MUST be located in the metro Washington, D.C. area INCATech is looking for a highly motivated Geospatial Web Developer to support a greenfield Application Development effort that is evolving from a COTS to custom solution to meet user requirements relating to data integration, UI, and auth requirements. The Geospatial Web Developer will be responsible for designing and developing the implementation of mission-critical geospatial SPA that leverages both spatial and non-spatial APIs. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Envision, design, and develop web applications and UI modules for large-scale deployment and management in the Department of Homeland Security
- Rapidly prototype web applications to showcase new concepts and ideas
- Utilize the ArcGIS API for JavaScript and React for integrating the web application with back-end web services
- Create a rich developer-friendly toolkit to consume new server-side GIS functionalities, using the latest relevant techniques and best practices
- Apply good software design and development practices in daily activities
- Write comprehensive technical design specifications and support documentation
- Suggest new technologies and approaches, often demonstrating and championing their use
- Estimate the duration and level of effort of development tasks
- Work with the client and team members to understand the requirements for developing geospatial solutions leveraging Esri's ArcGIS Platform and other GIS software stacks
REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications Related Experience: - Bachelor's in information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or a related field.
- Experience designing, developing and supporting web application development efforts
- Experience with modern JavaScript Libraries/Frameworks. React heavily preferred.
- Experience with the Esri JavaScript and REST APIs;
- Experience with - HTML, CSS (SASS, LESS), JavaScript, JSON, REST
- Envision, design, and develop web applications and UI modules for medium to large-scale deployment
- Ability to work independently to rapidly prototype web-applications, widgets, and app features to showcase new concepts and ideas
Preferred: - Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Experience with developing responsive web applications to include desktop/tablet/mobile viewports
- Experience developing custom HTML popup, marker symbiology within map-centric applications.
