Job Description

The International Travel and Security Administrator shall serve The Navigators and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose: To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost.

This role will include providing security information and training to overseas staff and those preparing for overseas travel. In addition, this position will be responsible for developing an International Crisis Response plan and leading the International Crisis Response Team, assisting other religious non-profit organizations in development of their international security and crisis management doctrine, policy, and procedures, and creating an environment of risk awareness and risk reduction within the Navigators for International Travel and Security.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

International Travel and Security Administrator (80%):

•Monitor multiple unclassified worldwide intelligence sources daily. Disseminate important information as appropriate along with any recommended action steps as necessary.
•Provide International Security Awareness briefings to both short-term and long-term staff, and any Navigator invited guests, who are traveling internationally or moving overseas.
•Determine, develop, implement, and supervise the needed best practices, processes, procedures, and systems for carrying out the global security and crisis management function to serve as the framework for a successful risk and crisis management program.
•Attend intelligence, risk management, training conferences, and workshops to increase knowledge on current threats, trends, and risk mitigation practices.
•Stimulate and oversee the implementation of strategic and tactical risk assessment, and contingency planning development by overseas local field entities. Maintain copies of these plans and procedures for comparative use during a crisis.
•Identify the various levels of responsibility and accountability within the international crisis management program and develop a plan for training and development appropriate for each level.
•Recruit, train and oversee personnel for the First Responder and the International Crisis Management Team (ICMT).
•Advise and make recommendations to the International Crisis Response Team (ICRT) Chairman on recruiting, training, and overseeing personnel for and on the ICRT.
•Advise the organizational Mission Directors and ICRT organizational executives as appropriate to sustain a proactive posture toward international travel, risk mitigation, international security, and crisis management.
•Develop and implement a plan to interface with Field Leaders, Mission Directors, the International Office, and headquarters staff to fully integrate the risk and crisis management policies and procedures for global staff throughout the Worldwide Partnership.
•Develop and maintain working partnerships with other religious non-profit organizations, government agencies, and other non-government organizations.

Lead the International Crisis Management Team (ICMT) during times of crisis or potential crisis - 10%
•Assemble the appropriate team of cross functional/missional members.
•Ensure the process is well orchestrated.
•Morph team depending on the nature and scope of the crisis.
•Conduct ICMT training tri-annually.

Additional Responsibilities - 10%
•Ongoing personal spiritual growth and development.
•Balance the needs of the leadership role(s) with your personal soul care needs.
•Ongoing initiation in mentoring and personal ministry.
•Carry out personal ministry in line with gifting.
•Participate in Navigators' on-site learning and development events, Cultural Development and Diversity trainings, or other non-Navigator developmental events as appropriate.
•Participate in annual processes, such as the organizational Plan and Progress Review (PPR), Engagement Survey, Reaffirmation of the Navigators Code of Conduct, Calling-Core Values-Vision, Statement of Faith, Driver's Authorization, and other releases as required.
•Other job-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Spiritual: Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators. In-depth knowledge of, or experience in, the U.S. Navigators work preferred. Overseas experience a plus.

Experience: At least 3 years of experience in International Travel Security. Demonstrated experience in strategic thinking, and leadership, including problem solving, conflict resolution, communication, and training.

Technical Knowledge & Skills:
•Microsoft Office proficiency and willingness to learn new software.
•Proactive, strategic approach to seeking out ways to enhance the International Travel program.
•Advanced strategic thinking, capacity to see both the larger picture and the detailed steps needed to achieve it.
•Ability to multi-task and problem solve under sometimes short or conflicting timelines.

Communication & Leadership: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including verbal & written, to create understanding and build strong working relationships required.

Education: Bachelor's degree, with emphasis in international relations, business, or management strongly preferred.

Compensation Range: $59,500-65,000/year
