Job Description & RequirementsA large acute care hospital in South Carolina is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant – Cardiothoracic Surgery for a locum tenens assignment. The provider will work primarily in the operating room with responsibilities spanning vein harvesting, first assist on open heart cases, ICU admissions, and pre/post-operative surgical care.

~$200K for assignment.
\n\n\nAssignment Highlights\n\nSchedule:
\n\n\t \n\t\tMonday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM (8 hrs/day)
\n\t\t\n\t\tCall: ~5% weekdays, ~75% weekends (primarily ER call) — included in daily rate
\n\t\t\n\tPractice Setting: Inpatient (90%) + Outpatient (10%)
\n\t\n\tPatient Population: Adults only
\n\t\n\tDaily Caseload: ~10 patients/day (5 admissions, 5 ICU, 4 surgeries)
\n\t\n\tSupport: 4 cardiothoracic surgeons and 7 APPs
\n\t\n\tBeds: 720 total
\n\t\n\tEMR: Epic
\n\t\n\tPay Ranking: This package ranks in the top 10–15% of current market pay for cardiothoracic surgery PA locum roles in South Carolina.
\n\t\n\n\n\nSkills & Experience\n\n \n\tPhysician Assistant with at least 2 years of cardiothoracic surgery experience (required)
\n\t\n\tMust be able to:
\n\n\t \n\t\tHarvest vein
\n\t\t\n\t\tFirst assist surgeon on all open heart cases
\n\t\t\n\t\tProvide suturing and perioperative surgical care
\n\t\t\n\t\n\t\n\tEpic EMR experience (preferred)
\n\t\n\tACLS and DEA (required)
\n\t\n\tActive South Carolina license (required; will consider candidates willing to license)
