Job Description & RequirementsOur Partner, Hospital , located in Ahoskie, North Carolina , is seeking an experienced Board-Certified Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner to provide locum coverage in their Emergency Department during the Christmas holiday period .
\n\nThis opportunity features enhanced holiday pay for all December 25th shifts , in a low-volume, community-based ED supported by ECU Health’s regional air and ground transport network.
\n\nThis role ranks in the Top 10% of 2025 national emergency medicine locum pay ,
\n\n\n Assignment Highlights \n\nDates & Shifts:
\n\n\t \n\t\tDecember 24, 2025: 12:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. (Standard rate)
\n\t\t\n\t\tDecember 25, 2025: 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. (Holiday pay applied)
\n\t\t\n\t\tDecember 25, 2025: 12:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. (Holiday pay applied)
\n\t\t\n\tOrientation: Required (day before first shift)
\n\t\n\tHoliday Pay: Premium for all December 25th hours
\n\t\n\tSetting: 15-bed Emergency Department, 114-bed community hospital
\n\t\n\tAverage Volume: ~65 patients/day
\n\t\n\tEHR: Epic
\n\t\n\tOnsite Specialties: General Surgery, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Oncology, Cardiology, Neurology, Pain Management, and Behavioral Health
\n\t\n\tSupport: ECU Health Air and Ground transport for immediate transfers
\n\t\n\tEnvironment: Collaborative, low-volume ED with full specialty backup
\n\t\n\n\n\n Job Responsibilities \n\n \n\tProvide full-scope emergency medical care for patients of all ages.
\n\t\n\tEvaluate, stabilize, and manage acute medical, surgical, and trauma cases.
\n\t\n\tCollaborate with hospitalists and specialists for admissions or transfers.
\n\t\n\tPerform essential emergency procedures within scope of practice.
\n\t\n\tDocument all care accurately in Epic EMR .
\n\t\n\n\n\n Skills & Experience \n\n \n\tEducation: MD, DO, PA-C, or NP required
\n\t\n\tBoard Certification: Required (Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or comparable specialty)
\n\t\n\tLicensure: Active NC license or IMLC eligibility
\n\t\n\tExperience: Minimum 2 years in emergency or acute care preferred
\n\t\n\tCertifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
\n\t\n\tDEA: Active and current
