Overview The Custodian supports the overall cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the College. This position performs various housekeeping, custodial and maintenance related tasks to ensure and maintain a clean and sanitary environment for students, staff, and the campus community.

This position is no t eligible for hybrid work location, per Everett Community College's Telework Policy Duties & Responsibilities Cleaning & Sanitation
- Clean offices, classrooms, restrooms, outdoor spaces, and other areas throughout the Campus
- Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, polish, and clean floors and surfaces
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, showers, locker rooms, and related facilities
- Restock soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other supplies
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of waste containers
Inventory & Waste Management
- Maintain inventory of custodial supplies, equipment, and materials
- Requisition supplies and equipment as needed
- Empty trash, recycling, compost, and other disposal containers across campus
- Ensure safe organization and disposal of waste and recycling
Facilities & Operations
- Make rounds to secure buildings, lock doors and windows, and switch lights and equipment
- Document and report damage, disrepair, security concerns, and other hazards observed
- Clean, repair, and maintain custodial and other assigned tools and equipment
- Assist with maintenance, repair, and upkeep of facilities and furnishings
- Assist with furniture and equipment setup for meetings, events, and special activities
- Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal, sidewalk cleaning, and debris removal
General Duties
- Participate in training to improve methods, expand knowledge, and ensure safe practices
- Provide support for special projects, emergency response, and workload peaks
- Perform other duties as assigned to support campus operations and the needs of the College
Qualifications Required Experience:
- One year of custodial or related work experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of standard custodial practices and safety procedures
- Ability to use custodial tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and interact professionally
Preferred
- Experience working in a school, hospital, or institutional setting
Additional Information Physical Requirements

Terms of Employment
- Full-time position, 40 hours per week
- Overtime eligible - FLSA non-exempt
- Position is subject to Everett Community College policies and procedures
