Job Title: Patient Access Representative

Location: 330 Mount Auburn Street, Cambridge, MA 02138

Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Shift: Day Shift (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM)

Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week

Openings: 10 Positions

Pay Rate: $22/hr (W2) or $24/hr (1099)

Overview:
Mt. Auburn Hospital is seeking Patient Access Representatives to support front-end patient registration and administrative functions in a high-volume clinical environment. Candidates must be local and fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including booster).

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be local to the area
• Cannot have been employed (permanent or travel) at any Beth Israel facility in the past 6 months
• Prior experience providing customer service in a business setting, preferably in a healthcare environment
• Experience handling electronic demographic and financial information

Responsibilities:

• Register patients upon arrival and explain the registration process
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and balances; reconcile cash drawer daily
• Assist patients with kiosk check-in as needed
• Administer Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire and update insurance coverage accordingly
• Obtain and process patient signatures on consent and financial forms
• Scan and record registration documents accurately
• Counsel patients on non-covered services and obtain appropriate waivers (e.g., ABNs)
• Monitor patient waiting area, manage registration flow, and communicate delays
• Complete missing registration info for admitted inpatients
• Address patient concerns and recognize/report safety risks
• Maintain an orderly, secure front desk and protect patient confidentiality
