UPMC Poison Center is seeking a Full-Time Pharmacist to join our expert team of toxicology professionals! This is a unique opportunity to play a vital role in providing life-saving consultation and pharmacologic recommendations to patients, healthcare providers, and hospitals across the region. Schedule: 

• Rotating Schedule (7 am to 12pm)
• 2 weekends per every 8-week increment

Purpose:
Support optimal patient outcomes through toxicology expertise, cost-effective pharmacotherapy, and collaborative consultation. Provide experiential education for current and future healthcare professionals and contribute to drug-related research and public health initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Provide toxicology consultation and clinical recommendations to patients, healthcare providers, and hospitals, including emergency departments and inpatient units.

• Assess and manage exposures to pharmaceuticals, chemicals, environmental toxins, and venomous bites/stings in collaboration with Poison Center staff and medical toxicologists.

• Review and evaluate patient medication profiles for potential toxic interactions, contraindications, and duplications, especially in cases of overdose or poisoning.

• Identify, document, and report suspected adverse drug reactions and toxic exposures in a timely and accurate manner.

• Assist in the supervision and training of pharmacy technicians, interns, and other support personnel involved in Poison Center operations.

• Provide drug and toxicology information to healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers, and participate in educational outreach and training programs.

• Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy
• B.S in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree 
• Current licensure as a pharmacist in practicing state 
• Prior Pharmacist experience preferred.
