Role: Field Robotics Applications Engineer Salary: 160,000 Equity (Early-Stage) Location: Austin (2 Weeks travel a quatre) Company Overview We’re supporting an early‑stage robotics company developing autonomous aerial systems and intelligent operator interfaces designed for deployment in rugged, real‑world environments . The company builds flight‑ready platforms that combine autonomy, perception, embedded AI, and intuitive human–robot interaction for reliable operation in challenging outdoor and industrial conditions. Applications span commercial, industrial, and government‑adjacent use cases. We’re hiring a Field Robotics Applications Engineer to deploy and operate autonomous drone systems in real‑world environments. This is a hands‑on role focused on taking robotics out of the lab and into the field — supporting live testing, demos, and early deployments. You’ll work directly with aerial robots, autonomy software, and Physical AI systems, owning integration, troubleshooting, and performance in uncontrolled environments. What You’ll Do Deploy and operate autonomous drone (UAS) platforms in field conditions Integrate autonomy, perception, and controls into flight‑ready systems Build and test speech‑driven and natural‑language command interfaces Deploy AI workloads on NVIDIA Jetson (Nano, Xavier, Orin) Integrate and debug sensors (GPS, IMU, LiDAR, cameras) Run field tests, flight trials, and customer demonstrations Troubleshoot hardware/software issues during live operation What We’re Looking For Experience with drones, UAS, or mobile robotic systems Strong ROS/ROS2 experience with C and/or Python Experience deploying software on embedded or edge compute platforms Comfortable working outdoors, traveling, and operating robots hands‑on Background in autonomy, controls, perception, or SLAM Security & Compliance Must be eligible to work in the U.S. US Top Secret Clearance is preferred or ability to gain security clearance Compensation & Benefits $160,000 Base Salary Equity (early stage) Full benefits: medical, dental, vision 401k Match Strong PTO, 401(k), wellness programs #J-18808-Ljbffr Franklin Fitch
