As a **Security Professional - Shelter Site - Unarmed Patrol** in **San Jose, CA** , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter and more .
As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to create a secure and welcoming environment at a shelter location. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols throughout the premises, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and providing outstanding customer service to all individuals on site. You will interact with residents, staff, and visitors, responding to inquiries and assisting with access control and badge procedures as needed. **What You'll Do:**
+ Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
+ Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
+ Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
+ Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
+ Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
**Responsibilities:**
+ Provide customer service to clients and residents by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
+ Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting the needs of the shelter environment.
+ Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and maintain a visible presence.
+ Observe and report any unusual activity or potential hazards to the appropriate personnel.
+ Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying identification as required by site policies.
+ Document incidents and daily activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific protocols.
+ Support shelter staff and residents during emergency situations by following established procedures and providing guidance as directed.

**Minimum Requirements:**
+ At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
+ A Guard Card or license is preferred.
+ Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
+ Customer service experience is preferred.
+ Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
+ Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
+ Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
+ Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
+ Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
+ A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
