As we modernize our digital ecosystem, including our Shopify-based eCommerce platform , we’re seeking a skilled Shopify Developer to join our growing engineering team. Sunlighten's Shopify Developer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing our Shopify storefronts, ensuring a seamless, modern, and performant online shopping experience. This role requires strong technical expertise in Shopify Liquid , JavaScript , and theme customization , as well as a collaborative mindset for working with designers, marketers, and backend engineers. The ideal candidate has experience working within staging and production environments , understands the importance of version control and QA workflows , and can integrate Shopify with external systems such as Salesforce CRM . Duties/Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance Sunlighten’s Shopify storefronts using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (ES6+). Build and maintain reusable Shopify sections, templates, and components to support marketing and product updates. Manage multiple Shopify environments (staging, QA, production) with proper version control and release management practices. Integrate Shopify with Salesforce CRM and other enterprise systems (ERP, inventory, analytics). Collaborate with the eCommerce, marketing, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality digital experiences. Troubleshoot and optimize site performance, accessibility, and SEO. Implement tracking and analytics for user behavior, conversion, and performance insights. Stay current with Shopify platform updates, APIs, and app ecosystem developments. 3+ years of experience developing and customizing Shopify storefronts . Strong command of Liquid templates , Shopify APIs , and theme architecture. Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) , HTML5 , and CSS3 . Experience with staging environments , Git-based workflows , and CI/CD processes . Proven experience integrating Shopify with Salesforce or similar CRM systems. Familiarity with REST/GraphQL APIs and JSON-based integrations. Understanding of responsive design principles and accessibility best practices. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Headless Shopify setups (Hydrogen, Next.js, or similar frameworks). Experience connecting Shopify to ERP or fulfillment systems .
