\n\nMammography Technologist Qualifications\n

\n
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Mammography Technologist or Radiologic Technologist\n
• Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiology and Mammography required\n
• Experience with 3D Tomosynthesis mammography required\n
• Preferred: Experience with Hologic Mammography equipment and Epic EMR systems\n
• Strong knowledge of radioactive material safety protocols\n
• Excellent communication, clinical support, and patient care skills\n

\n\nMammography Technologist Responsibilities\n

• Perform diagnostic breast imaging and correlative breast examinations, documenting scars, moles, and relevant findings\n
• Educate patients on breast self-examination and the importance of annual clinical breast exams\n
• Accurately identify patients using two identifiers and adhere to universal safety protocols\n
• Review patient history and physician orders, applying departmental protocols for optimal imaging results\n
• Document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system\n
• Conduct mammography procedures with technical proficiency, including breast compression, positioning, and special imaging views\n
• Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring safety, comfort, and understanding throughout the process\n
• Perform equipment quality control procedures using radioactive sources and evaluate results to ensure compliance with healthcare standards\n
