Utility Locator / Utility Designator - San Antonio, TX Halff has an immediate opening for a Utility Locator/ Utility Designator on our SUE (Subsurface Utility Engineering) team in San Antonio, TX. The ideal candidate will have experience locating and marking underground utilities, be able to read and interpret utility plans/prints and provide accurate documentation and/or sketches related to locates completed. Utility Locator / Utility Designator Qualifications: - Minimum of 2 years of locating/designating experience is preferred
- Communications locate experience preferred
- Vac Truck experience a plus
- Operate various electromagnetic locating equipment, to locate and mark underground utilities within prescribed accuracy limits
- to identify the type and size of underground utilities
- Provide accurate documentation and/or sketches related to locates completed
- Operate company vehicle in a safe manner and maintain professional appearance
- Be able to perform manhole entry using assigned equipment and safety devices
- Communication and coordination with supervisor, coworkers, and utility representatives
- Ability and willingness to follow instructions that may be written or delivered verbally
Utility Locator / Utility Designator Requirements: - At least 1 year of experience locating and marking underground utilities
- Must be able to read and interpret utility plans/prints to identify the type and size of underground utilities and provide accurate documentation and/or sketches related to locates completed
- Must have a valid Texas Driver's License
- Must be able to work starting 6:30 AM, Monday through Friday and have reliable transportation
- Perform work in all weather conditions, during normal and after hours
- Must be dependable and responsible regarding punctuality and attendance
- Must have excellent attention to detail and strong ability to ensure accuracy. There is very little room for error in this position
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
- Overtime and weekend work may be needed to meet project deadlines and you will need to be available to travel out of town
