The Axel Group is working with a well-established environmental consulting and engineering firm in Wall, NJ that is seeking an experienced Environmental Assistant Project Manager with 4–8 years of industry experience. This role offers the opportunity to take on greater responsibility while working closely with senior project managers and technical staff. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management and oversight of complex environmental projects from planning through completion
  • Support senior project managers with budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate technical reports, including Workplans, Health and Safety Plans, site assessments, and remediation reports
  • Oversee field activities, including remedial investigations and remedial action implementation for soil and groundwater projects
  • Provide on-site construction support and collaborate with superintendents to ensure compliance with project goals
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and regulatory officials, maintaining strong professional relationships
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and aligned with regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental or Civil Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related Physical Science discipline
  • 4–8 years of professional experience in the environmental consulting/engineering industry
  • Experience managing portions of projects, coordinating field staff, and interacting with clients and regulatory agencies
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and industry-standard software (e.g., GIS, AutoCAD, project management tools)
  • Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
